The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on 15 July 1948. The origin of NCC can be traced back to the ‘University Corps’, which was created under the Indian Defence Act 1917, with the objective to make up the shortage of the Army.
With the permission of the State Government NCC Girls’ Unit was started in the college from 16th September 2012 with an intake capacity of 35 cadets under Rayagada NCC HQ. Our student cadets are trained by NCC personnel deputed from the NCC Head Quarters at different times of the year which not only make the girls self-disciplined but true nationalists.
There is an Infantry wing of NCC for girl students.
