The Crest
The Crest not only represents the College but also represents its rich surroundings. On one side river Dhanei and the Dam symbolises the abundant water resources available for irrigation and fishery. On the other side the famous Simhasani forest which symbolises the spiritual and cultural heritage of the locality by the blessings of the Mother Goddess Simhasani. The illumination in between symbolises the eternal advancement of learning and wisdom with the concept : “Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya”
An Overview
The dawn of the Education awareness in Higher Education ushered in the horizon of Polasara, a cultured & beautiful area in the District of Ganjam by swearing the opening of the college in the name of Polasara Science College, Polasara by showing the provision of Intermediate of Arts & Commerce in 1979 and I.Sc. in 1983. The college was inaugurated on 15th August 1979 at the Veda Mandira by late Kanhu Charan Nayak, Ex-MLA, Kodala Assembly Constituency. Now it is running its 43rd eventful year of life by sufficing Higher educational needs in the Panchayat Samiti area and the area nearby as a composite college facilitating both higher secondary and under graduate courses in Arts and Science.
The College opened +3 Degree course in Arts in the Year 1989-90 and since then the admission and the result in the said course are very much encouraging. The college has received Govt. permission to admit 256 students in +3 Arts class from 2013-14. The college has got permission to admit 128 students in +3 Science class with Hons. in Physics (24), Chemistry (24), Mathematics (16), Botany (32) and Zoology (32) from the academic session 2016-17
The College is very proud of its present Principal in charge, Dr. Dibakar Mishra, a man of high profile who has tried his best to mitigate various problems of the college which is a good sign for the all round augmentation of the institution.
This college has become full aided having regular Principal from the Govt. to stand by the healthy academic atmosphere in the befitting manner. Healthy academic atmosphere, regular classes, high percentage of results and above all a highly qualified faculties & disciplined students have brought about a glorious change associated with the fortune of the college.
The all round development of the college is the be all and end all of the students, staff and the local people.
